The Royal Observatory, founded in 1675, warns that AI may make us less intelligent, reports the BBC. Despite that (or because of it?), universities are scrambling to prepare future accountants for the AI age. Educators are having a hard time dealing with the AI conundrum, but neither a full embrace across all curricula nor complete abstinence is the answer, but futurology is, argues this column in the New Hampshire Bulletin. To everybody’s joy, The Washington Post predicts that AI will create more lawyers rather than threaten the legal profession. “The future is not yet finished,” former Google CEO Eric Schmidt told a hostile audience during a commencement speech at the University of Arizona, reports NBC. “It is now your turn to shape it.” Maybe.
